Series 1: Accretion
Though work in this series is ongoing, I began my study with encaustic wax with this technique referred to as accretion. By repeatedly brush stroking hot wax over my forms I am able to achieve a sculptural surface. Most of my forms are built of rattan reed, cotton string, adhesive and fabric. In some instances the forms are built of a Paper Mache like composition of my own formula.
